Just Outside MCA, The Matrix, Shortly After Zinyak's Broadcast, Thursday

Several hours of searching his apartment - when he and Cara had gotten back, and again this morning - and then the greater premises of the MCA building, such as the lobby - and Atton had finally found a weapon.

Which was to say he had a broom.

He put his foot down on the head as he stepped outside and violently yanked the stick part out of it. "So what I'm gathering from this," he said, looking up at... wherever that voice had come from, just to make sure he was listening, "is that there's finally someone we can beat the poodoo out of."

They had taken all of his weapons, they had taken the Force out of his head, and they had taken the Ebon Hawk. Atton might not have been Sith anymore, but damn if he wasn't strongly inclined to make sure someone was going to die. Screaming. For this. "And then to finish up, I think I'm going to kick this Zinyak guy in the nuts."

Atton took a swing at the guy who'd shot at him the first time, clobbering him hard in the arm. There. There went the blaster.

Then he smacked him over the head with the back of the stick.

Cara, meanwhile, kept moving past Atton into the thick of the group, slamming her agiels hard into throats and anywhere that looked soft and vulnerable.

Atton flung the broomstick aside and picked up the blaster, taking out an alien that had its designs on Cara's back. "Time to even the odds!"

Yeah. Sure. Especially with the way Zinyak's sighing attention was turning towards you now.

Cara snarled and broke the neck of an alien she'd knocked to its knees. At least they'd have taken out most this group of guards before Zinyak could do anything about it.

Pity they were computer simulations and thus that accomplished basically nothing.

At least it made them feel better?

...For another, you know, five seconds.

Which was the time it took for something to yank Atton backwards into a giant doorway of light.

"Atton?" Cara looked up and lunged forward, trying to catch him and pull him back.

Spoiler, she probably wasn't going to succeed.

No, Atton went like a lead balloon, every force of nature in their general area conspiring to suck him all the way in.

Bleep, he heard.

He stared up at an armada of spaceships, arranged in a weirdly gridlike pattern.

"What the--"

The doorway blinked out before Cara reached it, and her momentum carried her forwards until she hit the ground.

But that was okay because another doorway opened up beneath her.
